Estimate your solar system size and savings

Use your electricity consumption, equipment quote and expected solar use to make a planning estimate. Change the example inputs to match your own property.

Your inputs

Enter units consumed from your electricity bill. Allowed range: 0–100000.
Example input, not a verified tariff. Exclude fixed charges you will still pay. Allowed range: 0–1000.
Adjust for your location and season; this is not the length of daylight. Allowed range: 1–8.
Use the rating of the panel you plan to buy. Allowed range: 100–1000.
Example input. Use your actual quote; battery costs need to be included separately. Allowed range: 1–2000.
Estimate how much generation your appliances use directly or through storage. Export revenue is excluded. Allowed range: 0–100.

System sizing uses a 30-day month and a 78% performance factor. Savings use your selected share of solar electricity consumed on site, capped at your entered electricity use. This estimate includes no income for electricity exported to the grid.

Results are estimates, not a quotation or a guaranteed bill reduction. Roof shading, seasonal output, load timing, inverter sizing, outages, battery losses, maintenance, equipment replacement, financing and future tariff changes can affect results. Confirm the design with a qualified installer. The simple payback calculation excludes those additional costs. Read the disclaimer.
